An Extracurricular Mindfulness Program Fostering Emotional Intelligence, Confidence, Self-Love and Compassion Through Soccer and/or Yoga Classes.

Why Namaste Sports?

Fundamental Values of Mindfulness

Emotional Intelligence

We teach our students to better manage emotions that come along with stressors of every day life. By using a responsive, compassionate and gentle approach to teaching, we connect with each of our students and listen to understand them better. In building a relationship of trust and through modeling, our students learn to feel, express, and communicate their emotions in a positive and developmental manner.

Confidence

Our instructors lead by example and bring leadership and skills that foster confidence within each of their students. We give our students the tools to feel proud in their work and efforts in each class. We take the time to highlight their strengths, but also give constructive criticism while helping them manage the emotions that come along with feelings they may have about themselves. In the current climate of society where social media is a key influencer in how kids feel about themselves, we find that teaching kids to be confident aids in managing the opinions of others in a mature and growth-centered way.

Self-Love

This is a big one for us and probably the most important fundamental value for our owner, Carolina. Working with children of all ages, she has seen how negative self-image can affect all areas of a kid’s life. From friendships, to school work to parental relationships and success in school and extracurriculars. We believe at Namaste Sports that a positive self image will lead to self-love and we strive to affirm our students in every way we can. We focus on mindful thinking, breathing exercises, affirmation writing and other strategies to help students love themselves for who they, are inside and out.

Compassion

Caring for others is the best way to have love for yourself. As you probably realized by now, all of our values go hand in hand and in teaching one, you make way for them all. Namaste Sports places high ethical expectation in how students treat others. Caring for others is a priority and our instructors provide many opportunities for students to practice empathy in class. We encourage the expression of kindness to those outside of our immediate circle and model empathy and compassion so our students have the motivation to do the same.

Our Programs

Yoga

Our yoga classes follow Yoga Ed. Curriculum structure for advancing difficulty through a 10 or 12 month period. We follow a monthly mindfulness theme, yoga focus and skill that is the focus of each class. While we do place emphasis on skill-learning and physical aspect of the movements and proper execution of poses, our main target is to foster emotional intelligence, confidence, self-love and compassion in all of our students.

Soccer

Our soccer classes are taught following a Namaste Sports self-made curriculum, which increases in difficulty over a 9-12 month period. We follow a monthly mindfulness theme, soccer focus and skill. While we do place emphasis on skill-learning and physical aspect of the technical/tactical rules of the game, our main target is to foster emotional intelligence, confidence, self-love and compassion in all of our students.

“I am so glad Namaste Sports is at my granddaughter's school! Olivia has loved learning soccer and yoga from Coach Carolina. Working full-time, it is difficult to make time for physical activity for Olivia, and Namaste Sports' classes offer Olivia that exercise. Thank you Coach Carolina!”

I cannot tell you enough how much this newsletter made my day seeing Ella on it. She’s new to school after staying with her Grandmother until she was 2. It’s so nice to see her engaging and enjoying herself with her friends.

Thank you so much for offering this to our littles. It’s something I know is so good for them. Ella comes home hopping like a bunny and reaching for the stars from yoga and on Thursdays it’s all soccer or as she says, “occer!” She kicks her leg around and plays keep away with her Dad having a ball when she gets home. So THANK YOU!
